A SNEAK PREVIEW OF MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is right around the corner, and 6th Avenue seems like it’s going to go off the rails because of Team USA’s World Cup performance.

All the giant balloons and floats for Thursday’s march through New York City have been assembled. Some preview images give us an idea of what to expect, such as a patriotic soccer player going for goal.

This giant inflatable footballer performing a bicycle kick is one of the newest and most eye-catching attractions. Probably a nod to the U.S. men’s national soccer team, who are presently competing in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup.

A giant Ronald McDonald, a Green Dinosaur with her babies, a classic Snoopy, Papa Smurf, a Minion, and others also stand out among the crowd of balloons.

As expected, the finishing touches are being put on the traditional parade floats, and yes, it is all about advertising! After all, the following day is Black Friday and the stores wouldn’t dream of letting you forget. That includes Macy’s, Baby Shark, Toys “R” Us, and Wonder Bread. One of the coolest features is a “Little Nemo”-inspired float for Slumberland.

Finally, some images from this week’s rehearsals, when the cast and crew got together to iron out any last wrinkles. Among the many performers were Jimmy Fallon, Black Thought, Joss Stone, Jordin Sparks, Lea Michelle, Paula Abdul, and Sean Paul.

It appears that this will be a fantastic show.
