New Delhi: The Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) backed 3×3 Pro Basketball League (3BL) returns for its third consecutive season. The season is scheduled to tip in Chandigarh from 5e March with the final scheduled for 21st March 2022.
The announcement was made Friday by Mr. Rohit Bakshi, Commissioner of 3BL and Ms. Prerna Sharma, Director of 3BL. The event was also attended by the Secretary General of BFI, Mr. Chander Mukhi Sharma, in addition to the top Indian and foreign participating players. Mr. Vikas Bansal and Mr. Rajeev Tiwari, the owners of the Gurugram Masters franchise, the reigning champion in the men’s competition, were also in attendance.
“We are pleased to grant the exclusive rights to 3BL’s professional league as an additional opportunity for our star players to shine,” said Mr. Chander Mukhi Sharma. “3BL will provide additional income and exposure to many Indian basketball athletes.”
“We are confident that India will participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. By the end of 3BL Season 3, the global FIBA 3×3 federation ranking of Indian teams should be at least 30eof the current 70e (in men) and 55e (in women). This will give India a boost that we have all been waiting for,” said Rohit Bakshi.

3BL Season 3 will be streamed live on Sony LIV, with additional weekly special programs airing on Sony Six.

Twelve men’s teams and six women’s teams compete over six rounds. The winners will be announced at the end of each round and the winner of the final round will be crowned the overall champion.
In addition to attractive salaries, prize money and FIBA 3×3 ranking points for individual players, the top teams will also get the chance to participate in prestigious FIBA 3×3 World Tour events.
72 men’s players (divided into 12 teams) and 36 women’s players (divided into 6 teams) from all over India and abroad will participate.
Top stars of Indian National Team such as Raspreet Sidhu (Former Indian National Team captain), Amjyot Singh Gill (Ex-NBA G-League player), Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (Arjuna Awardee), Amritpal Singh (Former Indian National Team captain team), Stephy Nixon, Palpreet Singh (ex-NBA G-League conscript), Aravind Annadurai, Jagdeep Singh Bains, Akilan Pari and Arvind Arumugam will be in action. They will be joined by 3×3 specialists from around the world, including Indian-origin 3BL stars Inderbir Singh Gill and Bikramjit Gill.
Up-and-coming talent from India, Princepal Singh (ex-NBA G-League draftee), Sahaij Sekhon, Arvind Kumar and Sejin Mathew, among others, will make their professional 3×3 debut.
