Ashwin becomes India’s second highest wicket taker in Tests

mohali: Premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin passed the legendary Kapil Dev’s 434 Test scalp on Sunday to become India’s second-highest wicket-taker in the game’s longest format, hitting the target in his 85th match.

Ashwin, 35, achieved the feat in the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka. He started the game with 430 scalps and claimed two wickets in the first innings before adding three more in the second essay to go over Kapil’s goal.
