Austin City Limits Festival canceled due to coronavirus
Due to the recent spread of Coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic, Austin city limits festival 2020 is canceled. This festival typically takes place in the early months every year. This festival is celebrated in Austin’s Zilker Park. On their website, they released a statement that they love to put another show in front of us, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic situation in Texas they were not able to show another episode this year.
They also said that this decision is only a responsible solution. They also added that the safety and health of our artists, staff, partners, and our fans are our priority.
While announcing this year’s cancellation ACL fest also told about next year’s dates for the festival. The event starts as: The first event will start from the weekend from first October to third October. The second event will take place from eighth October to tenth October. They also wrote that if anybody has purchased the tickets earlier they can use them in next year’s fest and those who can’t attend next year’s fest, refunds will be available for them.
This decision to stop ACL Fest 2020 this year is coming as Texas grapples with a huge spike in coronavirus cases following and its attempt to re-open after several months of lockdown. It also follows the cancellations of Bonnaroo and Coachella.
They had moved their spring dates to the fall, by hoping, at that time, the conditions would have improved enough for large scale outdoor festivals. But while rescheduling these festivals, health experts are warning that it would be risky to have such events to take place in 2020.
