Paris: indias Rohan Bopanna reached his first Grand Slam semi-final in seven years after he and his Dutch partner Matwe Middelkoop rallied to defeat Lloyd Glasspool and Henri Heliovaara in the quarter-finals of the French Open men’s doubles, here.

In the decider, the Indo-Dutch pair showed tremendous mental strength to fight back from 3-5 down to take the match to a super tie-break.

They trailed 0-3 again, but won 10 straight runs to become trumps.

Bopanna and Middelkoop had saved five match points on Saturday to eliminate Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic, the reigning Wimbledon champion, from Roland Garros.
