A 36-year-old woman has been charged with strangling the 13-year-old son of her next-door neighbour.
Caroline Adhiambo is accused by the police of calling the mother of the boy a prostitute and threatening to cut her six times.
People say that when Adhiambo got home at night in Mlango Kubwa, Nairobi, she started yelling at her neighbours that they were all prostitutes and that they were talking about her behind her back.
She had a fight with the complainant’s mother earlier in the day because she called her a prostitute.
During that fight, the accused ran into her house, grabbed her knife, insulted her, and dared her to come outside and fight.
The boy reportedly tried to stop the accused from hurting the girl’s mother because he was worried about her. The accused then grabbed the boy and strangled him.
So, may of such incidents keep on happening. I ask where is the humanity!
Even though her mother ran to help him, he couldn’t get out of her strong grip.
She only let go and ran away after a neighbour scooped up raw sewage and poured it on her.
First aid was given to the boy with a bloody nose, and the police were called. The suspect was arrested that night.
The person who filed the complaint was left gasping for air and with a bloody nose. Before taking the complainant to the hospital, her mother and some other neighbours gave her first aid.
She was brought before the Makadara Law Courts, where she pleaded not guilty.
She was freed on a bond of Sh50,000. The court will hear the case on June 18.
