Advent is the beginning of the liturgical calendar for the Roman Catholic Church which is observed four weeks preceding the Christmas Eve. The word Advent means arrival, which is derived from the Latin word “arrival”. This is basically a Christian tradition, which was started with the intention of helping everyone to prepare for the coming of Christ in the world.
The University of San Diego has invited people to observe the special season which will lead to Christmas through the USD Advent Calendar.
To help people get more deeply into the season and in the spirit of the festival, the digital calendar would feature a daily piece of content, which includes festive songs, fun tidbits and spiritual reflections from the community members.
To avail of the content, people just need to sign up for daily Advent emails, which will have a link connecting to the digital calendar. To sign up the link is www.sandiego.edu/advent/ The University has welcomed all the students, faculty, parents and friends, alumni of the university to sign up.
