Djokovic back to work in Australia despite visa problems

Melbourne: Tennis star Novak Djokovic held a practice session at Melbourne Park on Tuesday, his second day out of detention, focusing on his title defense at the Australian Open, while still facing the prospect of deportation for not having been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The highly regarded Djokovic stepped into the show court within hours of winning a legal battle on Monday on procedural grounds against the withdrawal of his visa. He returned on Tuesday afternoon for closed practice, with doors locked and only his support team allowed into the Rod Laver Arena.
