Officially we have yet to hear anything about the future of The chair but by most accounts and based purely on performance, we can pretty much safely assume the show isn’t returning.

The reason we don’t think it’s returning is the fact that Sandra Oh, the show’s main star, spoke to Variety in early 2022, saying she suspects it “isn’t happening.”

Adventure Beast

Canceled at Netflix: June 2022

adventure beast netflix canceled

We’ve exclusively reported that Adventure Beast is “unlikely” to return to Netflix according to one of the project’s producers. You’d be forgiven for not even noticing that the animated series was added to Netflix in late 2021, but despite good reviews, the show isn’t expected to return.

One of the first major debut shows on Netflix in 2022 was Archive 81, a new horror series based on a podcast series of the same name.

While the show topped Netflix’s top 10, there is some evidence that the drop in viewership between episodes may have been the reason for its early demise. Archive 81.

The Babysitters Club

Cancelled: 11 March

First debut in October 2020, The Babysitters Club came from Rachel Shukert and ended up running on Netflix for two seasons, but won’t be returning for a third.

In a statement to Deadline, Walden Media’s Frank Smith said:

“We are incredibly grateful for Netflix’s vision and support to bring the world of The Babysitters Club to life. While we are sad that the series has come to an end, we look forward to future opportunities to share the legacy of Ann M Martin’s beloved work with new audiences.”

After arguably defying the odds of moving into a second season, Gentefied was not renewed for a third season with the cancellation news in early January 2022.

Although it broke into Netflix’s top 10 in the US, it did so for just 9 days before shutting down.

The comedy series told the story of three Latino cousins who tried to keep their grandfather’s dream alive by keeping their taco show afloat in a rapidly changing neighborhood.

While the bigger question is why it got a series in the first place, it turned out there wasn’t enough audience for Paris Hilton’s cooking show to warrant a second season.

Deadline reports that Netflix has chosen not to renew Cooking with Paris for a second season despite the show spent 5 days in the top 10 in Australia and Canada for a single day. It did not appear in the US top 10.

The show featured the media personality cooking simple recipes in her lavish kitchen along with celebrity guests including Kim Kardashian West, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato and Lele Pons.

The series has a 5.3 on IMDb and a 34 on Metacritic.

Another life (Season 3)

Cancelled: February 21st

another life canceled on netflix

It was never a question of if, and only a matter of when it was confirmed Another life was canceled by Netflix.

We can assume that the series was dropped by Netflix as early as December 2021 thanks to a tweet from Katie Sackhoff that strongly hinted at the fate of the show.

Despite its own loyal fan following it, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Another life got cancelled. The series failed to impress fans and critics alike and simply didn’t have an audience large enough for Netflix to invest more money.
