NFL Schedule 2020 Released

2020 schedule for NFL has been released on Thursday night. But due to the current situation of the world around due to pandemic coronavirus, it is still not clear that whether fans this time will get 17 weeks for enjoying football or not.

Till now nothing has been postponed for the start. It will start on Thursday, September 10 with the Houston Texans against Kansas City Chiefs. Till now 256 games will be played as an expanded postseason. Then two of the teams will face each other on Feb7,2021 in Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Fla.

NFL Schedule 2020 Released

The NFL executive vice president of football operations, Troy Vincent had said that there has been no schedule which states that the season has been shortened or delayed. He said that he is very excited for the current schedule and besides that no schedule other than this.

Four of the primetime games is what the eagles had thought of from which 3 will be at home that also includes Week 8 match with Dallas Cowboys in Lincoln Financial Field on November 11. This could be changed if there has been restriction imposed by the states from having large gatherings to avoid the spreading of COVID 19.

Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner had told the teams to not talk about the impact on schedule due to COVID 19. It is not possible to think about what will happen in the coming few months. He said that the speculations which are there had complicated the situation and making it difficult to plan which is the utmost required this time.

The only thing which is confirmed now that this time all the NFL games will be held in the United States only. Another international destination booked has already been canceled. This time, Amazon will have the exclusive right to stream the game on Saturday for season second half.


There are some of the other things which make an event stand out –

  • Tampa Bay and Tom Brady will be opening the season against New Orleans and Drew Brees during an afternoon game of Sunday in Week 1.
  • Everyone could enjoy the Gronk and Brady show as Brady’s Buccaneers playing 5 of the primetime games which are 4 in a 5 week at a stretch.
  • Matt Rhule who is the former Temple coach will do NFL debut at their home when in the Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers will take part at 1 pm on September 13.
  • On Christmas, Minnesota Vikings will play against the Saints around 4:30 pm. Since 2009, it is the first-time scheduled NFL game to be played on Friday.
  • On Thanksgiving Day this year, there are three best of games be played of Detroit Lions with Texans, Dallas Cowboys with Washington Redskins, and Pittsburgh Steelers with Baltimore Ravens.
  • On the Monday Night football match during week 2, Las Vegas Raiders will play against the Saints and make its new debut at home.
  • This time Jacksonville Jaguars will not play with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night. Which seems to be like more of welcome news.
