The country has registered a 16% drop in the positive cases, which is the sharpest decline in the infection this week. The total fresh cases were 3.6 lakh, which is the lowest in the last three months. Also, the death rate has reduced by a significant fall by 19% during the same period.
Last week, there were around 4.3 lakh new COVID-19 cases registered. This is the sixth consecutive week in which India is seeing a dip in the coronavirus cases. During September, the infection reached its peak with 6,45,014 reported during September 7 and 13.
The other good news is the country crossing the milestone in the number of recovery cases which has crossed the 70 lakh mark, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This has led to an increase in the recovery rate of COVID-19, which has crossed 90%.
About 61% of the recovery cases are from six states/UTs which includes Maharashtra and Delhi.
