India’s Coronavirus Epidemic is now the World’s Fastest Growing

2020 has been a year of too many unpleasant surprises. The pandemic has become a global emergency. As a matter of fact, the corona virus epidemic in India is now growing at the fastest rate across the globe. There has been an increase by almost 20% in the last one week. There have been more than 1.4 million positive cases by now, as per the reports of Bloomberg’s Coronavirus Tracker. This seems to be a matter of grave concern for everyone.

In the nation the infections have increased from 1.3 billion to 1.43 million. There have been approximately 32,771 deaths, according to health ministry India.

50,000 new corona virus cases reported on Monday.

The number of positive cases in the country can now be compared to that of Brazil and the US. But the rate of growth of fresh cases is the fastest in the country now.

Maximum number of cases is being reported in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The speed of testing has also increased manifolds. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 515,472 new samples were taken on Sunday

But even now the testing rate is not up to the mark and is in fact one of the lowest testing rates in the world. According to facts and figures, there are approximately 11.8 tests and 11.93 tests for every 1,000 people correspondingly. In the U.S. the testing rate is 152.98 tests per 1,000 and 184.34 in Russia, according to a project initiated by University of Oxford in the U.K.
