With the upcoming schedule of kick-starting IPL 2020, the Sports Council of Abu Dhabi is taking every possible step to safely and smoothly conduct this tournament.
Navdeep Arneja, the venue manager of Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, in a video, briefed some safety parameters that have been instilled ensure the safety of the players. He said that following the quarantine of 14 days, both teams could simultaneously practice in two separate ovals. Two separate dressing rooms have also been made for the teams. When the team arrives, they will go straight into the dressing room, after which they go to their respective ovals for the practice.
Earlier, BCCI announced in an official press release that 13 of their personnel (which include two players) had been tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The release further states that the affected ones are asymptomatic and are under the strict monitoring of IPL’s Medical Team. However, it did not specify which teams and how many in those teams are affected by Covid-19.
The much-awaited IPL 2020 will begin from 19th September and will conclude on 10th November. It will be played in three venues across UAE – Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
