IPL 2020: Gautam Gambhir Highlights ‘the biggest difference’ between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s Captaincy

MS Dhoni

The RCB is always an eluding team since the setting up in 2008. Though being one of the favourite teams of all, it had failed to qualify for the playoffs in the previous two seasons. In fact, in 2019, they finished last. Kohli is leading the team as captain from past three seasons. And there have been calls for a change in the captaincy.

The former KKR captain and a two-time IPL winner have analyzed as to why the RCB has not been able to get on to the next step in their hunt for the title. As said to Star Sports, Gambhir pointed out that RCB is batting-heavy whereas the bowling department is the reason for their downfall. All the hopes are made from Virat’s and De Viller’s batting.

He also pointed out the difference in the captaincy style of Dhoni and Virat. He said once the squad is decided, Dhoni stays persistent with the playing XI and waits for at least 6-7 matches. On the other hand, Kohli makes quick changes in the team and showcase their doubt on their team’s ability and balance.

So he would like to see if this time Kohli would bring the calmness in his mind and be confident of his squad and be persistent with the players as well.
