During the 2018 IPL season, he came into the spotlight with his six-hitting ability. In a total of 24 matches, he had scored 186 runs but in 15 of those matches, his strike rate was 196.87.
Earlier, Krishnappa Gowtham had played for Rajasthan Royals in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, Punjab Kings had picked him up.
The Karnataka all-rounder has featured in 62 T20s in his career and has cumulated 594 runs at a strike rate of 159.24. He also has 41 wickets under his belt in the shortest format at 35.41 and an economy rate of 7.60 runs per over.
Krishnappa Gowtham comes in as another all-rounder in a CSK lineup full of star-like Ravindra Jadeja, D Bravo, and Sam Curran.
