IPL 2022, RCB vs CSK: CSK will face RCB on Wednesday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune in their next game.
Mumbai Cricket Association Stadium in Pune will host Match 49 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday. The Chennai Super Kings are currently ninth in the IPL 2022 Points Table with six points from nine fixtures, including three wins and six losses.
On Sunday, Chennai defeated SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 13 runs after MS Dhoni took over the captaincy from Ravindra Jadeja. As CSK dominated SRH in Pune, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, and Mukesh Choudhary shone. Despite hitting 99 runs off 57 balls, Gaikwad missed out on a century. CSK posted 202 for two in 20 overs, setting a target of 203 runs, with Conway hitting 85 runs off 55 deliveries. In defending CSK’s target, Choudhary took four wickets to limit SRH to 189 for six in 20 overs.
Here’s how CSK could line-up against RCB:
Ruturaj Gaikwad: Gaikwad, who won the Orange Cap last year, has been inconsistent this year. He has scored 247 runs in eight games for CSK, including two half-centuries. This time, the opener wants to build on the 99 he hit in the last game.
Devon Conway: Just two games into the season, Conway was a big hit with the SRH bowlers. After going undefeated for a long time, Conway threw eight fours and four maximums. He is likely to stay in the lineup for the next game.
Mitchell Santner: The New Zealand all-rounder has been excellent for CSK this season, but he has yet to score some crucial runs.
Ambati Rayudu: Ambati Rayudu has scored 246 runs off nine matches this season, making him the second-highest run scorer in his team.
Shivam Dube: In the previous game, Dube was not in the team. He was CSK’s top run-scorer this year, but he didn’t play. But he is expected to be back in the team for the next game. In eight games, he has scored 247 runs, with a high score of 95* against RCB.
Ravindra Jadeja: This year’s T20 World Cup is coming up, and the Indian cricketer will be hoping to improve his performance before then.
MS Dhoni: MS Dhoni is back as the captain of CSK, and he is going to try to save the team’s season.
Simarjeet Singh: Simarjeet Singh made his IPL debut on Sunday against SRH, and he is hoping to make a lasting impression.
The price of Dwaine Pretorius was higher than that of Kane Williamson for SRH. His four overs yielded 40 runs and he took a wicket.
Mukesh Choudhary: In the game against SRH, the bowler took the crucial wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Shashank Singh and Washington Sundar.
Maheesh Theekshana: Sri Lankan pacer Maheesh Theekshana has taken eight wickets in six appearances this year for Chennai Super Kings.
