Even though the League Chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed that Dream11 has bagged the title rights, there was no official announcement made as BCCI wants the brand to revisit its bid.
They have got the title rights but whether or not the gaming platform holds it for the next two editions, depends on how much they can raise their bid. The BCCI is not happy about the bid of Rs.222 crore made by the fantasy gaming brand and wants it to reconsider the bid for the same.
As per the sources, the BCCI and Dream11 are still in a negotiating process, that if VIVO is not getting back with the investment of Rs.440 crore deal, the brand is to agree to the conditional three-year bid, with the payment of Rs.240 crore each in 2021 and 2022.
The veteran official of BCCI said that Dream11 is the highest bidder and has all the hints of getting the sponsorship, but a few issues are still getting considered before making the news official.
