Schumacher had set a record of winning 91 races, a target that seemed distant as the moon. Still, today after fourteen years after his last race, Lewis Hamilton has equaled the colossal tally by recording a victory at the Eifel Grand Prix. The boy from Stevenage has matched Schumacher’s victorious number and did it in 14 seasons in 261 grand Prix.
Hamilton made history in the mountains of Western Germany, being watched by Mick, Michael’s 21-year-old son, who is right now leading the F2 standings. Mick handed over Hamilton one of Schumacher’s helmets after matching his father’s record, which left Lewis stunned.
It is expected that he will also go in level with Schumacher’s record on seven world titles before the campaign would get over in Abu Dhabi on 13th December.
