Microsoft is working on games for Microsoft Teams

Microsoft has started making casual games available for its Microsoft Teams service. Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans say: The edge that the software maker has started testing games like solitaryConnect 4and word within Microsoft Teams. The casual games are intended to allow colleagues to play against each other during meetings.

While you’re not playing Halo or forza Within Teams, Microsoft will soon be clearly looking to games as another way to enhance the meeting experience as businesses continue to balance the needs of hybrid and remote working.

Microsoft is currently only testing casual games internally from its Casual Games offering, and the company may choose not to roll out this integration to consumers and businesses. Microsoft was asked for comment and declined to comment on game testing within Microsoft Teams.

In addition to testing casual games in Teams, Microsoft is also providing virtual spaces within Teams where colleagues can network and socialize with games. These virtual spaces are part of Microsoft’s broader metaverse plans, and the company has previously outlined its ambitions for 3D avatars and immersive meetings expected to arrive in Microsoft Teams this year.

Microsoft has continuously added features to Teams with a view to remote working. Together Mode was one of the first additions to the pandemic era nearly two years ago, and Microsoft Teams has also been updated with remote-friendly displays and features and mobile improvements.
