Many people think Mike Tyson is the best boxer of all time, or at least of his time. He has done a lot in and out of the ring. Mike Tyson can teach you a lot about how to live your life. If you do what he does, you’ll be a pro.

At the young age of 20, he reached the top of his sport by becoming the youngest undisputed heavyweight champion in history. Mike Tyson not only won the most prestigious title, but he was also the only heavyweight to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles at the same time.

In other words, he was a terrible person. But Tyson’s career wasn’t always smooth sailing. Both inside and outside of the ring, he had to deal with controversy and criticism. Mike Tyson has kept going and learned from his mistakes over the years, just like anyone else who has made it this far. So, here are five things you can learn from Mike Tyson’s troubled past that will help you stay focused on the goal.

1. Being honest about your flaws

We all like to think we’re almost perfect, but most of us have flaws that can bring us down if we don’t fix them. Even though these things can hurt your social and professional life, if you can accept them, take responsibility for them, and try to get better, the sky is the limit for what you can do. Being happy with yourself, flaws and all, is the first step to getting ahead in life and being happy. In an interview with The Express last year to promote his new book, Iron Ambition, Mike Tyson talked about this.

“You should always be honest about your flaws. Even though my flaws are embarrassing, the only reason I’ve done anything good in my life is because of my flaws, not because I didn’t have any. I’m pretty happy with the flaws I have. Because of my flaws, I got to very high places.”

2. Fight by yourself

The current anti-bullying craze that is sweeping the country is hard to argue with. We’re not saying that dodgeball should be banned outright, but if you see a child who just hit puberty picking on a weaker or defenceless child, step in (and maybe if no other adults are around sneak a punch into his kidneys).

We do, however, live in the real world and know that parents can’t always be there. The kids must sometimes be in charge of themselves. Believe it or not, Tyson was a fat kid who weighed about 200 pounds when he was in his teens.

Tyson quickly found out that his “inner strength” wasn’t some made-up power to conquer from an after-school special. Instead, it was real physical strength that let him beat up anyone he wanted.

3. Don’t be an idiot buyer

At the height of his career, Mike Tyson was thought to be worth around $300 million. On the other hand, Iron Mike went out of business in 2003. Tyson was known for wasting his money on a lavish lifestyle, and he loved to spend on ladies of the night in particular. Mike Tyson’s life of excess caught up with him quickly, and all of a sudden he was out of money.

Even though Tyson wasn’t rich at first, he slowly got better and now has a net worth of about $3 million, which he plans to keep. Even if you don’t make a lot of money, it’s a good reminder to watch your money.

Even though your bank account may look good at the moment, a few fines or bad purchases could put you in debt. Pay attention to both where you spend and where you invest your money. Just like hindsight is a great thing, so is patience.

4. Drugs and sexting can kill you.

People have told you that drugs are the worst thing since sliced bread, but when you’re forced to smoke your first joint, you find that it’s not so bad. So you say, “Screw it, if they lied about pot, they lied about them all,” and before you know it, you’re begging for money from stopped cars on Drugs Inc.

When Tyson went crazy and beat up seven prostitutes at once in a Vegas hotel room he didn’t pay for, he was mixing morphine, cocaine, and hard alcohol, which is a dangerous mix. Taking into Account the Situation “But it was my personal knockout punch to clean up my life, get whole, and get well,” Tyson said. “I haven’t done anything in three years.” I’m clean as a whistle. I’m not drunk any more.” And how can the people he hooked up with be mad if he used it as a way to get ahead in life?

When your life is at its worst, you might want to sell your intimacy to a pervert sitting at his computer with his pants around his ankles to make some extra money. Tyson said that at one point, people from Jenna Jameson’s production company had talked to him, and he seemed to hint that he might be interested in making a porno.

It was said that Mike’s boxing trunks had a 14-inch boa on them, but we can’t confirm this. He decided not to let it loose, which is good news for those of you who are scared (which is to say, all of us). I’ve learned from my mistakes. If a guy who has done almost everything at least once doesn’t smash on camera, you probably shouldn’t either.

5. Having faith is the key

Mike Tyson has always been a very sure of himself person. He’s always thought he was the best boxer in the world, and he proved it in the ring by throwing vicious punches. If you think you’re the best, it will show in all parts of your life, just like it does in the real world. Anything you thought was hard will be easy, and your confidence will draw people to you. You might not get a date with the beautiful blonde from accounting or win the lottery, but you’ll make a good impression on the people you meet and be remembered for the right reasons.

Just remember what Mike Tyson did before he fought Lennox Lewis for a major title in 2002: he got too confident. Tyson said he would “eat his children,” but the younger Lewis knocked him out in the eighth round, ending his career. Make sure you don’t cross the line between confidence and cockiness.

The heavyweight champion, who had never been challenged before, has changed in a big way. From one of the most dangerous slums in America, he became the youngest heavyweight champion in history, became a multimillionaire, went to prison, returned to boxing’s biggest stage, went back to prison, and so on. There is a lot of variety in his life, and his long journeys gave him a lot of life experience that we can learn from and use in our own lives. What do you think of Mike Tyson? Is there anything you can learn from him?
