For the second year in a row, Netflix is devoting an entire week to nerdy new announcements. Geeked Week is back for 2022 and each day has a different theme. It starts with TV shows on Monday, before moving on through film, animation, Weird stuff, and gaming. In short, there will be a lot to keep up.
To save you some trouble, we’ll be updating this article daily with the most important and interesting announcements to make it easier to break things down – so check back regularly for the latest trailers and reveals.
The dragon prince returns for season 4
Fans of The dragon prince have been waiting for a long time – season 3 concluded way back in 2019. But a new trailer reveals what has been described as “the next phase of the saga” for the fantasy story. It’s called “Mystery of Aaravos”, although there’s no word on when it will start streaming.
A first look at Entergalactic
Entergalactic is a beautiful looking animated series by Kid Cudi and Kenya Barris (creator of blackish† The first trailer not only shows how much style it has, but also reveals a stacked voice cast. The series is expected this fall.
Here is a single image of Skull Island
Last year, Netflix confirmed it was working on an anime spin-off of Kong: Skull Island (like Tomb Raider† And while there’s no trailer yet, the company has provided a single view of a gargantuan footprint.
An animated series by Junji Ito in the making
There aren’t many details here, but Netflix has announced a new animated series from iconic horror manga creator Junii Ito. You may recognize his signature style from terrifying books like gyo and UzumakiIt is called Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Stories of the Macabreand it’s coming to Netflix in 2023. Meanwhile, you can watch Ito talk about his work in the video above.
Cyberpunk: Edge Runners finally comes out
Netflix closed its animation presentation with the long-awaited first look at Cyberpunk: Edge Runnersan anime spin-off of CD Projekt Red .’s game Cyberpunk 2077. Also important, we now know that the series is expected to debut in September.
the sea beastThe new trailer features action, drama and sea creatures
the sea beast represents a pretty big swing from Netflix, competing against Disney when it comes to blockbuster animated movies. It’s directed by Chris Williams — who previously directed Great Hero 6 and served as writer on moana – and the latest trailer is filled with lots of action and other seafaring jokes. There’s even a cute blue creature. the sea beast will be released on Netflix on July 8.
A quick look at troll
Netflix has announced a new live-action monster movie called trolland while the first teaser is short, it’s more than enough to give you a sense of the movie – and just how big this troll really is. troll does not currently have a premiere date.
A look behind the scenes at day shift
In day shiftJamie Foxx plays a regular who cleans pools by day, but lives a secret life as a vampire hunter by night. Unfortunately, we don’t have a new trailer for the movie, but Netflix has instead released some behind-the-scenes footage that shows at least some cool car chases and gunfights. day shift coming to Netflix on August 12.
blasted looks ridiculous – in a good way
The debut trailer for blasted is short, but it manages to cram a lot into that time. It starts at a wedding, progresses to a paintball game and before you know it there is a full-blown alien invasion. I have no idea what’s going on, but it seems like a lot of fun. I mean, it has the tagline “bros before UFOs”. It’s scheduled to hit Netflix on June 28.
A Close Look at Jordan Peele’s Wendell and Wild
Netflix has been steadily building its library of original stop-motion projects, and one of the newest is co-created by none other than Jordan Peele. Wendell and Wild is described as “an animated tale of scheming demon brothers who enlist the help of 13-year-old Kat Elliot, a tough teenager with a load of guilt, to summon them to the Land of the Living.” The new clip shows a child running terrified down a hallway before making a very scary discovery. The film should be released on Netflix in October.
A closer look at spider head
spider head has already looked very strange and disturbing in the early trailers, and a new extended clip gives a glimpse into how this sci-fi prison experiments with its inmates. If it looks intriguing, good news: it’s coming out very soon, with a premiere date of June 17.
An extensive action series from the gray man
the gray man is a big tent pool for Netflix’s celebrity-filled summer slate, and this new clip gives a good idea of how much fun it will be to watch Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling go head to head. The film is reportedly the streaming service’s most expensive to date — and it’s set to hit Netflix on July 22.
The school for good and evil gets its very first teaser
On paper, The school for good and evil sounds incredible. The fantasy film, directed by Paul Feig, also features a star-studded cast that includes Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Yeoh. And luckily, it also looks great in the first teaser. The school for good and evil doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it’s expected to debut this fall.
WednesdayThe first trailer is here to bring you another new Monday
Tim Burton is back doing things for Tim Burton with this Addams Family spin-off. The teased doesn’t show much of the show, but it does give the first real look at Jenna Ortega in the title role. The series is listed as “coming soon”.
Mike Flanagan’s The Midnight Club evokes something dark in his first teaser
Fans of Mike Flanagan’s horror brand – including: The Haunting of Hill House† Chasing Bly Manorand, most recently, Midnight Mass – get lucky this Halloween. The showrunner’s next series, co-created with Leah Fong, seems to bring much of the same kind of terror when The Midnight Club arrives on Netflix on October 7.

We still haven’t seen the show in action, but a new teaser for Netflix’s take on A piece shows off some of the art and set design behind the upcoming live-action adaptation.

This isn’t the first time we’ve glimpsed Netflix’s live action Resident Evil series. But the latest trailer does offer something very important: a look at some terrifying undead dogs.
Netflix’s the sandman wakes up and dreams of freedom in new trailer
Finally, we’ve got a good look at Neil Gaiman’s beloved live-action adaptation the sandman† The new trailer is equally dark and dreamy, and also comes with a bit of news: the show will hit Netflix on August 5.
A short tease of Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
The first teaser for the horror anthology doesn’t really show much of what to expect, but it does detail some of the key names behind the project. Although del Toro is the showrunner and executive producer himself, he has managed to recruit some notable writers and directors from such films as Mandy† the empty manand split† The easing, meanwhile, reveals some new cast members: Eric André, Sofia Boutella, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Rupert Grint, Kate Micucci and Charlyne Yi. The series has no release date but is expected to debut this year.
An update on sweet tooththe second season
The heartwarming post-apocalyptic adventure sweet tooth returns for a second season. And while we don’t have a proper trailer yet, Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video confirming filming is over. Netflix says season 2 is “coming soon”.
The first teaser for season 3 of Locke and key
Locke and key took a darker turn for its second season, and based on the latest trailer, it looks like that trend will continue into season 3. The generational tale of magic keys seems deadlier than ever, and the new teaser also marks the return of a very important villain. Season 3 marks the end of the series and starts on August 10.

Ahead of the next season, Netflix released a short clip of Destiny: The Winx Saga, centering on a new Earth Fairy character named Flora. Season 2 doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but Netflix says it’s coming “soon.”

There’s a lot of dark magic and thrilling shootouts, plus it looks like the titular warrior nun can walk now across the water. Season 2 is expected to hit Netflix sometime this winter.

Manifesto gets a trailer for season 4
Netflix picked up Manifesto – one of a surprisingly large number of shows about disappearing planes – for a fourth season, and a trailer for the series debuted on Geeked Week. The streamer also revealed how big the season will be: Season 4 will be split into two parts, each 10 episodes long, though we don’t have a premiere date yet.

The first season of we are all dead did something remarkable: it was a zombie story that felt fresh and interesting. So it’s good news to learn that a second season is in the worksalthough there are no details yet, nor a release timetable.

1899 is a mix of mystery and horror, and the first teaser reveals what a thrilling combination that can be. The historical piece stars Emily Beecham and comes from the creators of the German sci-fi thriller Dark† It is not yet known when it will appear on Netflix.
