Netflix might never admit it publicly, but the market leader is a little concerned over Disney’s Hamilton is the number one streaming shows in July. Despite Netflix’s high profile and original movies and TV shows like ‘Cursed’, ‘Extraction’ to mention a few, none of them was unable to grab the top position.
But Netflix has decided to take the competition more healthily and had commented to treat the fans with more original and better projects in October. A majority of such projects are worthy contenders at award season. To mention one such work is ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’, which is the II directorial work of the famous writer Aaron Sorkin which is set to release on October 16th. It is a courtroom drama based on a true-life story with a cast of many stars including Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance to mention a few.
A biopic named ‘Mank’ starring Gary Oldman as the lead will also be streaming in October, which will be David Fincher’s first work in the last six years. Apart from this, two more projects ‘Kill List’ and Free Fire’s ‘Ben Wheatley’ is all set to keep the subscribers glued. On the TV show, the most awaited will be the ‘La Revolution’ based on the French Revolution and ‘The One’ which shows what would happen if a DNA could reveal someone’s soulmate. A few documentaries like ‘Tiny Pretty Things’ and ‘Deaf U’ are also scheduled for October.
All this means that Netflix is all set to woo the fans of all genre and age with plenty of original and fresh content. It will be interesting to see if any of these shows help Netflix grab the pioneer position back.
