2022 has already taken quite a few scalps from Netflix shows, and there will no doubt be many more to come. Rightly or wrongly, Netflix has built a reputation for being happy with its shows, so let’s take a look at all the Netflix Original shows canceled so far in 2022.
Figures show Netflix isn’t quite as happy with canceling as some would claim. In fact, they are in line with many of their competitors.
2021 was a big year for cancellations with titles like The Legacy of Jupiter† Accursedand Dash & Lily all get the axe.
There are also plenty of shows ending in 2022, such as Ozark† Grace and Frankie† dead to meand family reunion† We’re not going to include those in this list because we feel that cancellations and given the latest seasons should be separated.
List of canceled Netflix shows in 2022
Cancelled: March 2022 (although probably canceled a while ago)
The Mexican series Diablero ran for two seasons on Netflix with the most recent season landing in 2022. Unfortunately, we’ve been told exclusively that it won’t return for a third season on Netflix, causing it to be cancelled.
Cancelled: March 24
One of the first major debut shows on Netflix in 2022 was Archive 81, a new horror series based on a podcast series of the same name.
Although the show made it to Netflix’s top 10, there is some evidence that the drop in viewership between episodes may have been the reason for Archive 81’s early demise.
The Babysitters Club
Cancelled: 11 March
First debut in October 2020, The Babysitters Club came from Rachel Shukert and ended up running on Netflix for two seasons, but won’t be returning for a third.
In a statement to Deadline, Walden Media’s Frank Smith said:
“We are incredibly grateful for Netflix’s vision and support to bring the world of The Babysitters Club to life. While we are sad that the series has come to an end, we look forward to future opportunities to share the legacy of Ann M Martin’s beloved work with new audiences.”
No reason was given for the cancellation, but low viewership was probably the reason.
Cancelled: January 13
After arguably defying the odds of getting a second season, Gentefied failed to get renewed for a third season with the cancellation news coming in early January 2022.
Although it reached the Netflix TV top 10 in the US, it only did so for 9 days before it stopped.
The comedy series told the story of three Latino cousins who tried to keep their grandfather’s dream alive by running their taco show in a rapidly changing neighborhood.
Cooking with Paris
Cancelled: January 17th
While the bigger question is why it got a series in the first place, it turned out there wasn’t enough audience for Paris Hilton’s cooking show to warrant a second season.
Deadline reports that Netflix has chosen not to renew Cooking with Paris for a second season despite the show spent 5 days in the top 10 in Australia and Canada for a single day. It did not appear in the US top 10.
The show featured the media personality cooking simple recipes in her lavish kitchen along with celebrity guests including Kim Kardashian West, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato and Lele Pons.
The series has a 5.3 on IMDb and a 34 on Metacritic.
Cancelled: February 21st
It was never a matter of if, and only a matter of when Another Life was confirmed to have been canceled by Netflix.
We can assume that the series was dropped by Netflix as early as December 2021 thanks to a tweet from Katie Sackhoff who strongly suggested the fate of the show.
Now isn’t that the damn truth .️

Despite its own loyal fan following, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Another life got cancelled. The series failed to impress fans and critics alike and simply didn’t have an audience large enough for Netflix to invest more money.
Shows at risk of cancellation in 2022
There are a number of titles that we suspect will be getting the message that we’re not going through 2022, and that we’ve labeled as risky. Among the titles, we’ve included (and a few more):
- Aunt Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun
- black summer
- Brews Brothers
- Huge in France
- hype house
- from the cold
- It’s Bruno!
- live with yourself
- master of none
- medical police
- Neo Yokyo
- Paradise PD
- pretty smart
- sneaker heads
- The chair
- Guy’s Healing Powers
- The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show
- The letter to the king

We’ll keep this post updated throughout the year with all the major cancellations that Netflix announces.
