Netflix’s Blades off sequel now has an official title and release window: you can watch Glass Onion: A Knives From Mystery this holiday period, the company announced Monday

The following Blades off episode will be directed by Rian Johnson, who helmed the first film, and Daniel Craig will once again star as Detective Benoit Blanc. The rest of the cast is going to be really great – including Dave Bautista, Madelyn Cline, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudson, Edward Norton and Leslie Odom Jr., according to a short trailer released by Netflix

We don’t know much about the film’s plot yet – according to Netflix’s official description, it will take place in Greece – but Johnson shared a little bit about his take on the franchise. in a thread on Twitter

Something I love about Agatha Christie is that she never stepped into creative water. I think there’s a misconception that her books use the same formula over and over, but fans know the opposite is true.

It wasn’t just settings or methods of killing, she was constantly stretching the genre conceptually. Under the whodunnit umbrella, she wrote spy thrillers, proto-slasher horrors, serial killer hunts, gothic romances, psychological character studies, glam travel stories.

when i made Blades offthat’s what got me excited about the prospect of creating more mysteries with Daniel as Benoit Blanc – to emulate Christie and have each movie be like a whole new book, with its own tone, ambition, reason for being.. …and (ta dah) title.

Netflix landed both this sequel and another last year in a deal reportedly worth more than $400 million. Johnson will also direct the third film and Craig will also star in it.
