Nicolas Pepe epitomizes Arsenal’s frustrations at Leeds with naïve sending off in a 3/10 performance

The Arsenal team recorded just their second draw in 22 games. Mikel Arteta side played out a goalless draw with Leeds United on Sunday in the Premier League at Elland Road.

The Gunners were found to be in the back foot for large spells. Things got difficult when Nicolas Pepe was given a red card. He naively headbutted Ezgjan Alioski, which spurred the host and Rodrigo rattled the bar. This happened even before Raphinha and Patrick Bamford hit the post.

The fascinating contest ended with 0-0, where Arsenal’s chance of winning saw Bukayo Saka denied by an outstretched Illan Meslier on the other end, as he did an efficient counterattacking move by rounding the keeper.

The positive aspect of the match was how Arsenal produced a defensive astute display. The negative aspect was that Arteta had for sure converted Arsenal into a more organized outfit during short tenure as the lead, but the Gunners created frustration which was epitomized by Pepe’s foolish and an absolute avoidable sending off.
