On Sunday, Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, said that on August 15, at Red Fort, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister will be presenting a new outline for India be self-reliant. He said that there are various departments as well as ministries of government has been seriously working for implementation for making India self-reliant. It is just an attempt for bringing fresh dimension about Mahatma Gandhi way of Swadeshi.
The defence minister, while talking about Atmanirbhar initiative, said that while being in pandemic has proven that the country would not be self-reliant and effectively protect the sovereignty.
The defence minister had made the decision for banning the import of around 101 military weapons and platforms which includes transport aircraft, cruise missiles, conventional submarines and combat helicopters by the year 2024. He said that tough and major decision for promoting the self-reliance for production of defence. All the big weapons could be produced in India. The country is also looking for the export for making it as a hub for manufacturing defence products.
