Kohima: For the first time, Rajasthan United Football Club (RUFC), an I-league club, is to hold a scholarship for players under the age of 18 in Nagaland state.
The trial will begin on February 28 in Dimapur on DDSC ground, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and will end on March 1 in the state capital, Kohima, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Indira Gandhi Stadium. The trials will be conducted in support of the Kohima Town Club (KTC), the club said.
RUFC will scout young players from the U-10, U-13, U-15 and U-18 age groups. The trials are aimed at scouting and nurturing Nagaland’s talents through the club’s residential football program, while also building a strong squad and second-line roster for vacancies and reserves in the team.
Interested players can register by submitting documents such as birth certificate, aadhaar card, passport photo (2 nos), negative Covid-19 RTPCR report and registration fee of Rs 199 per player for 8119818928 and 9436609321 for Kohima and 8414999749, and 9436424654 for Dimapur.
The KTC has informed that RUFC is a full-fledged residential football academy/club that has made history by winning the 2021 Hero I-League qualifiers and becoming the first team from the state of Rajasthan to participate in the Hero I-League. Apart from a Hero I-League, the club also has youth teams from U-13, U-15 and U-18 up to the senior team.
