Rap artist Hurricane Chris arrested for murder in Louisiana

The famous rapper Christopher Dooley Jr. popularly known by his stage name Hurricane Chris was arrested on a murder charge on Friday in Lousiana. 

Known for his hit single “A Bay Bay,” Dooley, was arrested by the Shreveport Police for second-degree murder and illegal possession of things. A shooting was reported at a gas station in Lousiana’s town Shreveport where a man with multiple gunshots was found. The man was pronounced dead by the hospital, as per the media reports. Victims’ identity has not been released yet.

Police stated that Dooley went to the same gas station and accused the man of stealing his car, the CCTV footage proves him wrong. Dooley shot the man repeatedly, and the vehicle that Dooley supposedly claimed was his, was reported stolen from Texas. Therefore, he was booked for theft as well. The Shreveport Police department also stated that the rapper may or may not have an attorney to speak on his behalf, as per the online jail records.

The rapper, whose grandmother is a former Democratic state Rep. Barbara Norton, shot to fame in 2007 with his album “51/50 Ratchet,” the same album that contains his hit single “A Bay Bay.” The song’s music video has over 30 million views on YouTube. The single also reached no—seven on the Billboard Hot 100.

Signed to the Polo Grounds signature through Sony Music’s J Records, he freed a secondary album, “Unleashed,” about the past two years later, even though it met with middling success, it containing the hit Halle Berry she’s Fine. Which reached No. 7 on Billboard’s rap chart. He has since collaborated with Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Boosie, and Mario, and has released several mixtapes in the years. His recent mixtape, “King Cane,” was freed in March of 2017.
