These are still early days in IPL 2022 and Rajasthan Royals already look like the team to beat in this edition of the Indian Premier League. They have had a solid start to the season with formidable wins and are comfortably at the top of the table. Earlier on Saturday, they recorded their second consecutive win after beating the strong Mumbai Indians by 23 runs.
Riyan Parag who is from Assam has been an integral part of the squad and plays as a finisher in the Rajasthan Royals squad lineup. However, he had limited part to play in today’s game, thanks to a superlative batting through the Rajasthan Royals’ top order. Jos Buttler scored a century, while skipper Sanju Samson and power hitter Shimron Hetmyer contributed with quick blows to set a goal of 194 for Mumbai Indians. Riyan only came in the penultimate shot, which meant he had to go for the big shot from the word ‘go’. Riyan scored 5 runs on 4 balls including a boundary on Tymal Mills.
Riyan immediately made an impression and came on the field in the 2nd innings. An excellent outfielder for his team, he helped get rid of the dangerous Rohit Sharma today, thanks to a sharp, low catch in the back point area. Riyan also bowled an over.
He is in brilliant form and comes into the season with strong performances in the exhibition games. Riyan, one of the best outfield players on the team, will play as a finisher and is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming games.
Rajasthan Royals also have a strong net run rate and will aim to continue the good form. They next play Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday 5e April.
