Bombay: Skipper Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma admitted that many things didn’t go well with the bat, but his “disappointing” season is not giving him any sleep as he is just one “minor adjustment” away from finding form again.
Rohit had his worst IPL season, not scoring half a century for the first time since his debut in the first edition in 2008. 14 outings.
“A lot of things I wanted to do didn’t happen. I am very disappointed with my season. But this has happened to me before, so it’s not something I’m experiencing for the first time,” Rohit said on Saturday after MI’s last game of the season.
‘I know cricket doesn’t stop here; there is a lot of cricket ahead. So I have to take care of the mental aspect and think about how I can get back in shape and perform.
“It’s just a small adjustment and I will try to work on that when there is some free time,” he added.
MI, the most successful team in the IPL, ended a disappointing season in which they finished last, with a five-wicket win over Delhi Capitals.
After starting their campaign with eight consecutive losses, MI managed to take four wins in the second half of the season.

“It was a bit of a disappointing season for us as we were unable to execute our plans at the start of the tournament. And we know that in tournaments like the IPL you need to build that momentum.
“In the beginning, when we kept losing games in succession, it was a difficult time. For us, it was important to make sure that whatever we had planned, we came out and tried those things. It didn’t quite go the way we wanted.”
The Indian skipper said the players may have struggled to adapt to the new team dynamics.
“But it sometimes happens when you have a new team, because some players need some time to understand their role. Certain guys played for this franchise for the first time.
“And they play different roles when they play for their country, for their state or in different leagues. And when they come here, they get different roles. So it takes some time to get used to it.”
