33 states and Union territories shall conduct the II phase of dry run for coronavirus vaccination, which is the largest drill to be undertaken so far. Earlier the I phase of the dry run took place in eight districts of the country on December 28 and 29 and 74 districts were covered on January 2.
The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said in a meeting that whatever mistakes were made in the earlier dry run will be rectified during the second phase.
The second phase shall be done on Friday in 737 districts throughout the country. There would be three types of sessions for the drill- District Hospital, Urban/Rural outreach, Medical college/private health facility. After this, the beneficiary registration, micro-planning, and vaccination will be done. The site organizers will hold review meetings after the session to gather feedback.
The state health ministers are asked to submit their inputs once the drill is completed. As per the reports, all the UTs and States will get the supply of vaccines shortly. The dry run aims to familiarize districts with the procedure of Covid-19 roll-out and vaccination.
The states of UP, Haryana, and Arunachal Pradesh will not participate in the dry run as it was already conducted there.
Through this exercise, the Co-Win digital platform which is the government’s Covid-19 vaccination portal will also be tested thoroughly.
