Actress Samantha shared the hardships she went through for the film Sakundhalam to her fans through social media.
Actress Samantha’s film Sakundhalam is the first in her career with a mythological story. Director Gunasekar is producing Sakundhalam film based on the love story of Sakundala and Dushyantula from Mahabharata.
The trailer of this film will be released on Monday. Sagunthalam will release in India on February 17. The team has announced that this mythological film will be released in 3D.
Samantha plays the role of Sakuntala Pratha to Kavyanaya in the film. The subtlety of Shakuntala’s character is said to have taken a lot of effort to present Rajasa realistically on screen.
He said he took special training for this. At the end of the film, Shakuntala Taluk has to maintain his grace whether he talks, walks, runs or cries, and the hardest part of the film is showing that grace, he says.
Samantha posted a photo of her posing as Shakuntala in a modern outfit on Instagram. Samantha’s post went viral on social media. Dev Mohan is playing Dushyathundi in Sagunthalam. The film is produced by Dil Raju along with Gunasekar Tanaya Neelima Guna.

Meanwhile, Samantha missed the promotions of Yashoda due to myositis. It is said that Samantha, who is currently recovering from this illness, will participate in Sakundhalam promotional events.
Story of Shaakuntalam
The story of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan. The film is helmed by director Gunasekhar and marks a whimsical tale of love set in the Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir), the grandeur and splendour of Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty making the film extraordinary.
