Denzel Washington is safe and out of danger after some smoke was reported to be coming out from his Los Angeles home.
This Wednesday evening, firefighters responded to a distress call of smoke emitting from the second floor of his four-story building.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, there were reports of a possible fire danger in the gated Beverly Park neighborhood. It panned out to be the mansion of Academy-Award winner Denzel Washington. The firefighters proceeded with first evacuating all the residents safely and then investigating the cause of the smoke. However, it is still not clear if the actor was in the home at the time of this incident or not.
Washington’s Press Representative, Mr. Alan Neirob, spoke to Fox News and claimed that there was no fire and the residents are safe.
Firefighters said that there was not any active fire when they arrived at the scene. However, they did find some smoke emitting from an unknown source. They also used thermal cameras to confirm that there is no hidden fire inside the walls or ducts. The smoke was later traced back to one of the furnaces in the house, which was recently serviced.
Firefighters then stopped that furnace. Afterward, the occupants of the house were allowed to come back to the house and left after ensuring that everything is fine.
Fortunately, no one was injured, and no collateral damage was done to the house too
