The journey has not been easy for Animal Crackers. But there is some sign of relief as the second movie on Netflix is getting some success. It is being considered as the fifth-most admired piece of content in general on the platform.
It is a 3D animated film which revolves around a travelling circus members. It showcases the vocal talents of actors like Danny DeVito, Ian McKellen, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, and Sylvester Stallone. Read on to know if the movie really had such a tortured history.
Well, it seems as if it has been cursed. It was way back in 2015 that Animal Crackers started with its studio sessions. It was in the year 2017 that it was finished and premiered at the Annecy International Film Festival. Everything went fine till that time, but the company which was to release the movie in theaters went broke. This was a major setback for the movie.
Animal Crackers was later scooped up by one more studio, but this one also went broke. Later on, plans were made by Entertainment Studios for releasing the movie in theaters August 2018. Due to some unknown reasons, this never happened.
It turned out to be a big setback for directors Scott Christian Sava and Tony Bancroft. They had a finished film full of popular stars, but had no way to show it to the people. It was Netflix which took the leap and released it on July 24th. And now everything is going fine for Animal Crackers. People are watching it now. It has managed to get a dedicated fan base.
