Bravo reported to TODAY.com that longtime “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” actress Lisa Rinna announced her departure from the show on January 5.
After eight seasons on the show, the 59-year-old reality star is “eager” about what comes next.
After 35 years in the workforce, Rinna has found her dream job on Bravo. “I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series,” she said in a statement to TODAY.com. Those eight years have flown by, and I can’t wait for what’s next.
Given that Rinna’s contract with “RHOBH” expired at the end of Season 12, TODAY.com reported that she and Bravo had discussed and agreed that she would not be returning to the show.
In 2014, Rinna was cast as a regular cast member. She disclosed her early audition and subsequent rejection in the 2021 book “Not All Diamonds and Rosé” by Dave Quinn.
It sounded like a joke to me because Lisa Rinna had been on so many reality shows,” Andy Cohen, the show’s executive producer and a Bravo celebrity, stated in the book. It was important to me that the story be based on real women. I didn’t think it was necessary to hire an actress, and I certainly didn’t want any of the leads to become household names.
A couple of Rinna’s most famous roles are as Billie Reed on “Days of Our Lives” (NBC) and Taylor McBride on “Melrose Place” (Fox).
The last season of “RHOBH” featured a heated confrontation between Rinna and Kathy Hilton, who Rinna accused of disparaging Kyle Richards and her family. The altercation occurred during the cast’s trip to Aspen, Colorado.
During the season 12 reunion, Andy Cohen called Rinna out for her social media antics and revealed that it was Rinna, not Erika Jayne, who had thrown away costar Garcelle Beauvais’ biography “Love Me As I Am.”
Denise Richards, another star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” criticised Rinna on Instagram after the Season 12 reunion: “I watched #RHOBH last night. Despite my sympathy for Lisa Rinna’s loss of her mother, I have to ask, “What was her reason for being so mean and vindictive throughout the years she was on the show?”
In November 2021, at the age of 93, Rinna’s mother Lois Rinna passed away.
In an apparent response to her co-star, Rinna posted a clip of Richards from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” with the remark, “She plainly craves attention, let’s give it to her.”
After being booed at BravoCon in October 2022, too, Rinna told the network she didn’t let it bother her.
She announced, “I got booed.” “I left the building and was met with boos. Oh my god, it was just amazing. I flipped the switch and turned them off. “I felt like a professional wrestler,” she remarked. I’ve been performing for 32 years and have never experienced being booed. Oh my God, I thought, I’ve finally here.
Lisa Vanderpump, one of Rinna’s former co-stars, appeared to shade her on Twitter after the news of her leaving was announced on January 5 by tweeting the simple phrase “Ding dong.”
