The US has a New Rule for Passengers Arriving in the Country

Before entering the US, the passengers would be required to show their negative Covid-19 report, and the rule shall be implied from January 26, 2021. As per the new rule, all international flight passengers would be required to get their Antigen or PCR test done, to show that they are Covid-19 negative. The test must be done at least 72 hours before the travel time.

The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in the US has emphasized the new rule via a press statement. The CDC has further stated that the passengers will have to continue wearing masks and also maintain physical distance and follow the quarantine guidelines.

The rule applies to all passengers who shall enter the US, inclusive of all US citizens and permanent residents of the country. If in case, any passenger denies undergoing the test, the CDC has stated that the airline has all rights reserved to deny the boarding of such passengers.

Earlier this rule was introduced by CDC only for people arriving from the UK. But now, the rule has been extended globally, as a part of better precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The rule was initially introduced, after a new strain of the deadly virus, which can spread easily, was discovered in the UK. But later on, the new strain was found in other countries also like Netherlands, Denmark, Other European countries, and even South Africa. Therefore the rule has been modified which now include passenger coming from anywhere in the world shall get tested for the disease.
