This old footage by a Twitter user has taken the Internet by storm. The 1993 video shows a young Satya Nadella giving an MS Excel demo. That was about 30 years ago, when the desi exec was but a mere middle manager in the company. Satya Nadella in the video is introduced as a Technical Marketing Manager. Watch the clip below.
Today, he's the CEO of a $1.8 trillion company.— Brandon Arvanaghi 🐱 (@arvanaghi) December 22, 2022
In 1993, he was just another middle manager doing Excel demos.
Satya Nadella worked at Microsoft for 22 years.
He climbed the ladder.
And is worth ~$700 million today.
There are many ways to win. pic.twitter.com/SBMhuT0Awz
Here’s how the internet reacted with appreciation for the CEO of Microsoft for sticking with the IT giant. A few criticized his decision and the overall context of the tweet as mere capitalistic. Few even mocked Satya’s accent back then. Let ‘em haters spew hatred though. It won’t change the fact that the former middle manager at Microsoft climbed the ladders of corporate success to become its guardian when it was needed the most. And for most part, Satya has done fairly well ever since he took over the reigns from Bill Gates and Steve Balmer.
Satya Nadella was born on 19th August 1967 to Prabhavati, a Sanskrit teacher and Bukkapuram, an IAS officer of 1962 batch. Satya did his schooling at Hyderabad Public School at Begumpet in Hyderabad. In 1988 he received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. He went to the US to pursue a Masters in Computer Science. He also later did an MBA in 1997. Before joining Microsoft in 1992, Satya Nadella had a brief stint at Sun Microsystems. In 2014, Nadella was announced the new CEO of the company he spent nearly 3 decades of the major chunk of his career. Nadella has penned a book ‘Hit Refresh.’ He won the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in 2022.
