Manchester City took the Eredivisie title for the fourth time in the last five years, finishing one point (93) ahead of their rivals Liverpool in the points tally, shattering the Reds’ hopes of winning the four-times.
Manchester City had to beat Aston Villa in Sunday’s game to be crowned champions of the Premier League. To everyone’s surprise, however, they were 0-2 behind Villa while Liverpool fought hard to fulfill their fourfold dream against Wolves.
Manchester City made a sensational comeback in the second half, exactly what the club’s fans were hoping for. Gundogan and Rodri scored two quick goals in just two minutes to tie the game with Aston Villa. Then another goal from close range from Ilkay Gundogan in the 81st minute sealed the Blue Army title, sparking wild celebrations at the stadium and rendering Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Wolves pointless.
