Three top favourite Black Friday Destinations-Target, Walmart, And Best Buy have revealed their plans.
While the 2023 Black Friday deals event might seem like eons away, there’s no time like the present to prepare yourself for the shopping extravaganza. Our Black Friday deals guide is taking a look back at last year’s event, plus we’re covering everything you need to know about the 2023 sale, such as the date, when deals will kick off, and what bargains you can expect.
Analyzing what happened last year can give us a good indicator of what might happen at the 2023 Black Friday sale. While retailers braced for sluggish sales due to inflation, according to Forbes, online sales were actually up 2.3% compared to 2021, with $9.12 billion spent over the holiday weekend. That could be due to retailers offering steep discounts to clear out excess inventory, which wasn’t an issue in previous years’ sales.
So what were consumers buying? Amazon reports that the most popular sale categories included Home, Fashion, Toys, Beauty, and Amazon devices and stand-out items were the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, Apple AirPods, and the Nintendo Switch.
This year’s Black Friday deals event lands on November 24, which means there’s plenty of time to prepare, but if you’re interested in doing your homework now, our guide is covering what deals you can expect, what retailers offer the best Black Friday sales, and when you can expect offers to launch. We’ll update this guide with all the latest Black Friday news as soon as it drops, so make sure to bookmark this page as your one-stop Black Friday 2023 shop.
Walmart is starting with their Black Friday Sales online on 4th November at 7 p.m; while in-store on November 7 at 5 a.m. Deals will be focused on electronics, toys, home products, and a lot more. The electronic deals will be working the same way. The online deals will begin on the evening of 11th November while the moving in-store will be early November 14. You will also have deals on home decor, apparel, and electronics in the third week. In-store sales will have limited customers to ensure social distancing, and measures like sanitized carts and many more are taken.
During deals events like Black Friday, Walmart almost always offers excellent price drops on plenty of Wirecutter-approved kitchen picks, including an array of small appliances from KitchenAid, Instant Pot, Nutribullet, and Cuisinart. The retailer also offers occasional discounts on both individual pans and cookware sets from Wirecutter-recommended brands like Tramontina and Lodge.

You’ll have better luck finding discounts on games for the XBox and PlayStation, as well as on gaming peripherals, like the Xbox controller (which will be on sale from Walmart for $40 starting November 25 at 7pm ET, and is already selling for that same price from Best Buy)
Best Buy has their Black Friday deals starting from November 22. The store will be closed for Thanksgiving and will open by 5.am for Black Friday. Just like Walmart, only limited customers are allowed, and face masks are compulsory. They are also offering contactless curbside pickup and in-store pickup with more delivery options than Walmart. Almost all stores will offer same-day delivery and free next day delivery across the country.
Best Buy is currently hosting better deals on TVs than any other retailer, particularly those that would be a great purchase alongside a PS5 or Xbox Series X. For instance, Best Buy has the Vizio 55-inch OLED starting at $900, which is a great price for a TV with an OLED panel.
If you’re signed in to a My Best Buy account (it’s free to join, only requiring an email address), you can get an extra $50 off an already great price of $1,400 on LG’s CX OLED TV. Normally around $1,700 (and not currently available on Amazon), this TV is a great deal at Best Buy.
Target, too, like other retailers, is extending their Black Friday. Some of the deals are already in effect, while others will be on different weeks of November. Deals will be announced every Thursday. Target, too, will offer same-day delivery on some items. Target’s price match guarantee can prove useful as buyers can ask for price adjustments on any deal offered at a lower price than Target. Target Black Friday deals are here.
