Why was Dr Jordan Peterson banned from Twitter?

On June 29, 2022, conservative political commentator Dave Rubin posted on Twitter that Dr. Jordon Peterson had supposedly been banned from the social media site.

“Twitter is still a crazy place. Rubin wrote, “@jordanbpeterson has been banned for this tweet about Ellen Page.”

He just told me that he won’t delete the tweet “ever.” Paging @elonmusk…”

Why has Donald Trump Jr’s Twitter been suspended?

Supposedly, Peterson had tweeted, “Remember when it was wrong to be proud? And a criminal doctor just took Ellen Page’s breasts away.”

The psychologist was reportedly banned from Twitter for “violating our rules against hateful behaviour.”

A person claiming to be Mikhaila Peterson, Peterson’s daughter, wrote: “Wow. @jordanbpeterson got a Twitter strike. No more Twitter until he deletes that tweet. Certainly not a place for free speech right now, @elonmusk.”

On July 5, 2022, Elon Musk replied to a comment about Peterson’s ban.

The user said, “By the way, did you hear that JBP was kicked off the bird app recently? Strange times.”

Musk said, “Yeah, they’re going way too far to shut down different points of view.”

Who is clinical psychologist Dr Jordan B Peterson?

Jordan Bernt Peterson, who is 60 years old and comes from Alberta, Canada, is a clinical psychologist, author, and media personality.

He wrote the famous book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, which became popular in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany, and France.

Peterson says that there are 12 rules:

  • Straighten your shoulders and stand up.
  • Treat yourself as if you were someone you had to help.
  • Make friends with people who want you to do well.
  • Don’t compare yourself to the useless person you are now. Instead, look at who you were yesterday.
  • Don’t let your kids do anything that will make you hate them.
  • Fix up your own life before you criticise the rest of the world.
  • Follow what is important, not what is easy.
  • Just be honest. Or at least don’t lie
  • Think that the person you’re listening to knows something you don’t. Be clear when you talk.
  • Don’t bother kids who are skateboarding.
  • Whenever you see a cat on the street, pet it.

In January, Newsweek said that Peterson seemed to defend Joe Rogan after scientists wrote an open letter disputing some of Rogan’s claims about the Covid-19 virus.

Peterson wrote in a Twitter post, “Joe Rogan is the King of Lies. So many people like him better than CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS, which never lie or make things up. Spotify and other censors should leave him alone.”

Why did Dr Jordan Peterson previously leave Twitter?

Peterson said he was leaving Twitter after he was criticised for saying bad things about the plus-size model on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Peterson sent out a tweet on May 16 with a picture of the model Yumi Nu and the words, “Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of tolerant authoritarianism will change that.”

Peterson said in a series of tweets that he was leaving the platform after trying it out for three weeks. This was only a few hours after he made the comment.

He wrote that his staff took care of his Twitter account, but he also said that leaving Twitter “was a real relief.”

He also said, “I began to read and write more.” I started using it again a few days ago, and I would say that my life got worse almost right away.”

He also said, “The never-ending stream of cruel insults is really something that can’t be found anywhere else.”

I like to follow people I know, but I think the way the platform is set up makes it dangerously and inherently crazy.

So, to keep me from being tempted, I told my staff to change my password, and I’m leaving again. I’ll write an article or make a video if I have something to say. If the issue isn’t important enough to warrant that, it might be best to let it go.”

Peterson says he will write an article that will go into more depth about why he left Twitter.

What are Dr Peterson’s previous health issues?

In an interview with The Sun in 2020, Dr. Peterson’s daughter Mikhaila Peterson said that her father got Covid-19 in a Serbian hospital while he was recovering from being too dependent on the anti-anxiety drug Benzodiazepine.

She said, “He was given a whole bunch of anti-virals and other things as a precaution.”

I don’t know if that was necessary because his symptoms weren’t that bad. He didn’t have a cough and only had a mild fever, but they gave him everything.

Mikhaila also said that her father has pneumonia. This is the second time this year that he has had pneumonia.
