WHO Warns about the next Pandemic and Urges to be Better Prepared

More investment in public health is important.

On Monday, the chief of WHO, World Health Organisation Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the world needs to be better prepared for another pandemic in future. It means that the countries need to invest more in terms of the public health sector.

It is estimated that more than 27.19 million people are infected by the highly contagious coronavirus across the globe. More than 888,326 people have died due to COVID19, according to Reuters. These figures are depressing for sure.

It was in 2019 December that the first positive case was reported in China and since then there has been no stopping for novel coronavirus.

We need to learn from our mistakes

Tedros laid emphasis on the fact that this is not the last pandemic for the world so we need to be better prepared in the coming times. He also said that history has witnessed such pandemics in the past as well and the world needs to be ready for the next one.

Such things can not be taken lightly and closing eyes over such issues will only prove to be more disastrous.
