Who will Fill Johnny Depp’s Shoes in Willy Wonka prequel- Tom Holland or Timothee Chalamet?


With the news of Johnny Depp not being recast for the Willy Wonka up-coming film, there is an update on who might bag the surprise roles. The prequel of the hit film Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory would delve into the history of candy’s architect and how did he land where he did.

Two big actors are being seen for the major role which was originally played by Johnny Depp- Timothee Chalamet and Tom Holland. The Spiderman actor Tom Holland and Call Me By Your Name star Timothee Chalamet are both being eyed for Willy Wonka’s role. Though, there is no decision taken on the casting yet.

As per the reports, the title of the prequel will be ‘Wonka’and would revolve around the architect’s younger days. The movie shall depict the story of the factory owner’s young age days before the confection owner came into being.

The prequel has been in a development stage for almost four years now. The script is being written by Simon Farnaby and the ‘Paddington’ Director Paul King will be the helmer of the project. The movie has not yet gone on floors.
