Reviving after a convincing 2-1 win over Bengaluru FC in the previous match, NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) will be out to get out and enjoy their game as they take on a confident Jamshedpur FC side in their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) Match 2021-22 at PJN Stadium in Margao, Goa on Friday.
Already out of the race for the semi-finals, the Highlanders will play fearlessly, closing this year’s campaign on a high.
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC, who are in second place on the points list, have been in red-hot form all season and a win today will seal their position in the knockouts.
The match kicks off at 7:30 PM IST. It will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network, Disney+ Hotstar and Jio TV.
NEUFC star player Deshorn Brown, who would be key in today’s game, had missed several games due to injury and head coach Khalid Jamil believes things would have been different if he had been around all season.
Speaking before the game, Jamil said: “Speaking of (Deshorn) Brown, it is a pleasure to have him with us. He is one of the best players in the ISL. I have said many times, we have missed him. the last game, in the presence of Brown, we won after a long time. If you have five-six players like him, we could have been the champions. I know him very well, he trains very hard, he is always involved, he complains “never. Whenever I want him, he’s always there. He talks to the players and guides them. It’s a pleasure to have him in India.”
Deshorn has performed brilliantly in all the matches he has played and has scored regularly after his comeback, but he feels it is all too late now. Deshorn Brown said: “It feels good. I’m pushing myself, but it’s too late NorthEast United FCis to make it to the semi-finals), but we always fight as a team to the end. Hopefully we will play well in the last two games.”

For Jamshedpur, TP Rehenesh has made four clean sheets this season and it certainly wouldn’t be an easy task for the NEUFC strikers to pass him. Both teams have played nine times before and NEUFC has only won once.
