Elden Ring: Bandai Namco warns of PS5 save bug in rest mode

Such as Elden Ring rocket up the charts collecting some of the most rave reviews this side of Breath of the WildBandai Namco has issued a PSA to let players know that it is in the process of smoothing out some of the blemishes from day one.

In the PSA, Bandai Namco said it is working to correct some issues related to mouse hypersensitivity, PC anti-cheat bugs, and frame rate/game performance issues that, somewhat annoyingly, cause the game to stutter at random times. .

One of the biggest warnings concerns a game save bug on the PS5.

If the PS5 console turns off unexpectedly while playing a game or in rest mode, saved data may not be saved correctly. We are aware of the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to correct it, but until the patch is released you will need to manually save your game by exiting the game periodically.

Elden Ring, like most FromSoftware games, lacks a pause function. If a player enters the game menu, the game will still continue, leaving the player prone to attack while playing with his equipment or inventory. Not having a pause feature is pretty inconvenient, and PS5 users may be tempted to use the console’s rest mode to get around that. As Bandai Namco warns, that can damage the saved data, so the best option for when short breaks are needed is to manually save and exit.

Bandai Namco said it is working on other issues as well, but did not say when a patch would be rolled out.
