‘Euphoria’ star Zendaya becomes Youngest Emmy Winner for Lead Actress in Drama


Zendaya, a first-time nominee and the youngest one on the ballot bagged the winner position as best actress in drama. She made history by not just becoming the youngest-ever Emmy winner but also for being the second-ever black woman to win the sort.

She came out victorious and topped Jennifer Aniston, Comer, Sandra Oh, Olivia Colman and Laura Linney. On her victory, she thanked her entire team, her family and Sam Levinson, creator of Euphoria. She made a special thanks for Sam, where she expressed how grateful she was for entrusting her with his story and appreciated him to be like a family to her.

She said that with this win she sees a future for young artists who are working very hard to mark a name in the TV industry and said that she admires and thank them all. 

Zendaya won for the portrayal of a teenage drug addict Rue, on the HBO’s High School Drama.
