Here’s Why Taylor Swift Skipped the 2023 Golden Globes

So, if you were hoping that Taylor Swift would show up at the 2023 Golden Globes (me too), it looks like we’re out of luck. Taylor didn’t walk the red carpet, even though “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing was up for Best Original Song in a Movie. And of course, Twitter has…had a lot on its mind:

Either way, Taylor has made it clear that she loves “Carolina” and “Where the Crawdads Sing,” so it’s likely that she will support the Globes from afar and watch them. In March, Tay wrote on Instagram, “When I read Where the Crawdads Sing years ago, I got completely lost in it. As soon as I heard that a movie starring the amazing @daisyedgarjones and being produced by the amazing @reesewitherspoon was in the works, I knew I wanted to be a part of it musically. I wrote “Carolina” by myself, and then I asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to make something spooky and otherworldly to go with this amazing story.”
