PM Modi addressed the nation on the eve of 74th Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort for the consecutive seventh time. His entire speech was stressed on making a self-reliant India, citing examples of pre and the post-pandemic situation in the country. He said before the pandemic, India had to import the masks, PPE kits, and ventilators. But now the situation is just the opposite, with India being able to export these items to the world.
He said he truly believes in the capabilities and potentialities of his people and knows that once decided nothing is impossible for Indians. He pointed out how a large amount of foreign investment is flowing in India, which indicates the amount of trust the world has started showing in the country.
He emphasized on using the vast natural resources in the optimum way to reduce the import of raw materials also. He said along with the mantra ‘Make in India’, now the focus should also be on, ‘Make for the World’. He said there are challenges in the path of becoming self-reliant but also there are immense opportunities and solutions available for the ones who seek it.
