Imphal: the chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh congratulated Solimla Jajo, the silver medalist and Solan Jajo, who took fourth place, at the recently concluded 54th Asian Bodybuilding Sports Championship in the Maldives at CM’s Secretariat on Wednesday.
Solimla Jajo from Kasom Khullen and Solan Jajo from Leishi village, both 17 years old and from Kamjong district, were among the seven bodybuilders from Manipur who were part of Team India at the Asia continental event that started July 15 on Maafushi Island. was held in the Maldives. -21.
“Congratulations to Miss Solimla Jajo from Kasom Khullen who won a silver medal in the 165cm category and Miss Solan Jajo from Leishi Village, Ukhrul district, who won fourth place in the 160cm category, representing India at the 54th Asian Bodybuilding Championship, CM Biren Singh tweeted on Thursday.
Singh appreciated their performance at the Championship and added: “Well done girls.”
Solimla took part in the open medal physique for juniors in the 165 cm category, while Solan took part in the 160 cm category. They are the first Tangkhul female athletes to win titles in the international fitness competition.
Both Solimla and Solan, trained by international bodybuilder Robert L Meitei, have qualified to represent India at the upcoming World Championship in Thailand in December this year.
